About the Magic of Blow Molds

Halloween decorations are all about the glow—pumpkins flickering, ghosts peeking from the shadows, and those classic, nostalgic blow molds lighting up yards everywhere. There’s something timeless about them: bold, cheerful, and just a little spooky. They bring back childhood memories and turn any porch or lawn into a glowing celebration of fall.

This post is dedicated to Halloween blow molds—with some favorite finds, shopping links, tombstones, and even a few ā€œalmost blow moldsā€ that keep the same charm in new forms. Plus, I’ll share some personal shopping stories and tips, because half the fun of decorating for Halloween is the hunt!

Where to Shop for Halloween Blow Molds šŸŽƒ

If you’re diving into blow molds this year, here are a few key shopping stops and links:

  • Main Blow Mold Roundup → Shop Halloween Blow MoldsA growing collection of the best blow molds for the season. Bookmark it, because as more finds pop up on Mavely, they’ll be added here.

  • Don’t Forget These Stores → While Mavely links are easy for online shopping, some of the best treasures are in-store only. Definitely check Cracker BarrelĀ and Lowe’s—they’ve been bringing out some adorable seasonal blow molds. (Mavely doesn’t support them directly, but they’re worth the trip!)

  • Almost Blow Molds → Resin Figures, Flat Backs & Light Covers Perfect for filling gaps where a true blow mold might not be available. Think of these as ā€œcousinsā€ to the classic blow molds—still bright and bold, just in slightly different forms.

Tombstones & Graveyard Style āš°ļø

No Halloween yard setup is complete without a spooky graveyard, and for us, Home Depot tombstonesĀ have been the winners year after year. They’re sturdy, have great detail, and hold up well outdoors.

Here’s the main shopping link for tombstones:šŸ‘‰ Shop Halloween Tombstones

We use mainly Home Depot’s lineup for our graveyard—solid designs that really anchor the scene.

Special notes from our setup:

  • We bought the Haunted Mansion head from Lowe’s, and it’s amazing indoors—it glows a mysterious blue lightĀ that feels straight out of Disney’s Haunted Mansion.

  • Tombstones can really set the mood, so mix them up for depth—short, tall, cracked, and ā€œagedā€ styles all work together.

Fun Notes from Our Blow Mold Haul ✨

Part of the fun of Halloween decorating is the stories behind the finds. Here are a few highlights from this year’s shopping adventures:

  • 🧔 The Welcome Sign Blow Mold → Both me and Tanner ordered this at the same time—and it turned out to be absolutely adorable. One of our favorite new pieces!

  • šŸŽƒ Pumpkin Mystery → There’s supposedly a pumpkin blow mold at Walmart this year, but we can’t seem to find it online. Fingers crossed for spotting it in-store.

  • 🐈 The Flatback Cat → I ordered the other three flatbacks way back in June, but somehow forgot this one. By the time I realized, our local stores still hadn’t set up, so I ended up finding the cat in Myrtle Beach. Pro tip: sometimes you have to change zip codes online for better availability.

Activities: Make It a Halloween Hunt šŸ‘€

Halloween decorating isn’t just about setting up at home—it’s also about the thrill of the hunt! Here are some activity ideas that make the process fun:

  1. Drive Town-to-Town → This year, we visited quite a few Home Depots, and the selection varied wildly. Myrtle Beach was the best, with Hickory, NC coming in second.Ā It’s a little like treasure hunting—you never know what you’ll find.

  2. Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, Ross & HomeGoods Runs → These stores are hit-or-miss, but when they hit, they really hit.Ā Perfect for quirky blow molds, resin pieces, or unique Halloween dĆ©cor.

  3. Store Hopping Adventures → Keep notes on what you find at different stores—you’ll start to see patterns and might score items other shoppers miss.

  4. Keep Checking Zip Codes Online → Sometimes what’s ā€œout of stockā€ locally is hiding just one zip code away. Don’t be afraid to try nearby cities for pickup.

Wrap-Up šŸŽƒ

Halloween blow molds are more than just decorations—they’re glowing symbols of nostalgia and spooky fun. Whether you’re building a graveyard with Home Depot tombstones, hunting for rare finds at Lowe’s, or snagging the cutest flatback cat at Target, the joy is in both the collecting and the displaying.

And remember: keep checking back on the main blow mold roundup—new finds will be added as the season goes on. Happy haunting, and may your yard glow bright this Halloween!

That’s such an interesting read! I really enjoyed how it captured the fun and creativity behind Halloween decorations. If you’re fascinated by spooky traditions and festive celebrations, you’ll love exploring how people celebrate Halloween in Ireland — where the holiday actually originated and continues to be celebrated with parades, ghost tours, and ancient folklore.
